Light moved differently through the forest that afternoon. Late sun broke through dense evergreen trunks in shafts of gold and white, then vanished as quickly as it appeared. I began following the rise of the trees with the camera during the exposure, allowing the vertical motion to stretch each flash of sunlight into a luminous ribbon.

What interested me was not simply making the woods look abstract. I wanted to hold onto the sensation of standing there: the forest rooted and still around me while the light flickered, shifted, and fell through the canopy. The trunks remain architectural, but everything between them becomes fluid, somewhere between observation and memory.

Where the Light Falls belongs to the Lightstreaks collection, an ongoing study of how movement and time can reshape familiar places. Here, the streaks are not made by headlights or city streets, but by sunlight moving through the living structure of the woods.
