ABOUT
85 — Arco di Travertino ↔ Termini
Rome, Italy
During my honeymoon in Rome, I kept noticing how modern life passed straight through the city's layers of history. Route 85, running between Arco di Travertino and Termini, gave me the contrast I wanted. I set a long exposure and waited for the bus to sweep through the frame, letting its movement become the subject.
The bus disappears, leaving broad ribbons of gold, white, and blue. Through them, the architecture remains, as if the city is remembering itself beneath the motion. They say all roads lead to Rome and this exposure brought that saying into the 21st century.
