What I See

A small sailboat crosses beneath a pale sun and a broad hazy sky. The horizontal frame gives the surrounding space enough room to shape how the subject is understood.

What I Like About It

I like how the tiny vessel creates interest through its disproportion to the open atmosphere creates interest without resolving the scene too quickly. The longer I look, the thin reflection and distant sail become clearer when the eye moves beyond the bright sun, giving the photograph more structure than its first impression suggests.
